Come and Get To Know Us Better!

Lyndsey Burton the owner of Balance Yoga Studio. She is a Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher based in Sileby, Leicestershire. Lyndsey helps busy people lead calmer lifestyles, so they can manage stress, overwhelm, and the anxieties of daily living.

Lyndsey runs Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga Meditation and Mindfulness classes at the studio along with her growing team of teachers who work together to give the local community ‘a space’ where they enjoy many styles of yoga.

Balanced Living is Lyndsey’s buzz word!

When Lyndsey is not supporting her clients, she is a very proud mum of two wonderful boys, a foster son and is a step-mum to yet another little boy (she laughs about her grey hairs), as well as being the wife of a talented tattoo artist.

Lyndsey spent 12 years working as a ‘shouty chef’ for a well-known pub company before escaping in 2008 to enjoy a calmer, more organic way of life as a Holistic Therapist.

As her career evolved, Lyndsey trained in Hatha and Yin Yoga, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Children’s Yoga. She loves helping people learn how to bring yoga, mindfulness and meditation into their day-to-day lives.

Her mission is to support the community in living a more balanced, healthy Lifestyle. Yoga is for everyone!

“I’m an everyday modern woman, juggling family and work on a daily basis. Though many years of personal practice, I have learnt how to manage stress, overwhelm and daily anxieties. I have achieved this by slowing my life down, practising yoga, mindfulness, and cultivating compassionate wisdom.

I trained with the Buddhist community, Mindfulness CIC, Bahia Yoga Studio, Young Yogi Academy, Whitespace Yoga, Sarah Lo (Yin Yoga), CAM Yoga and Sandy C. Newbigging.

Since I established my first Holistic Healing Centre ten years ago, my business has blossomed. I opened my brand-new Yoga Studio in March 2018. My focus is on supporting busy people to reduce stress through yoga, mindfulness and meditation.

I love sharing my passion for yoga, mindfulness and living in the present, with both my local and online community. I have been featured on the leading health website, Mind Body Green & The Elephant Journals, and you can usually find me hanging out on Facebook, where I share live stream meditations and stress relief tips.

I truly believe that by consciously slowing down, I has saved my life!”

Paula Tenwick

Paula Tenwick

Teacher

I’m a North London gal living in the Leicestershire countryside, wife to Phil and mummy to many furry and feathery rescue babies.

Most of my working life has been in sales and marketing until 7 years ago when I eventually ‘burnt out’ and found myself in hospital.  I decided it was time for a change. I took my Exercise to Music qualification and threw myself around church halls teaching Popdance classes in the community as well as working as a Sports Trainer at The RNIB College Loughborough.

I teach Sun Power Yoga (a blend of Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga), Yin Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga.

I had always enjoyed attending yoga classes but it was two years ago I had what I can only describe as a calling.  Nothing could quite prepare me for how my training changed my life. I truly believe yoga is for everyone and have a great passion for sharing this with others.

Vicky Henry

Vicky Henry

Teacher

Having grown up in India, yoga was always part of my life. I began to practice yoga in my twenties. In the last 14 years my practise has become more regular, disciplined and focused. Which led me to undertake Yoga Teacher Training.

Becoming a teacher has helped me to pass on the benefits I have found from yoga, both physically and mentally, to others.

My focus is ‘Functional’ Yoga, teaching people to explore the way their body experiences the postures, knowing that it’s not how it looks, but how it feels. I Teach Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga.

Rachael Voss

Rachael Voss

Teacher

Rachael had been practising yoga for many years alongside a career in the Charity sector before training as a teacher of Vinyasa Flow, Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga and leaving the 9-5 routine behind. She predominantly teaches Flow with classes having an upbeat feel while also providing a chance to relax and unwind. Yoga doesn’t always have to be serious business!

Rachael was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in May 2016. Yoga had always played a very important part in her self-care routine and she continues to practice herself regularly alongside teaching.

Rachael believes that regular exercise and creating space both physically and mentally is key to keeping a positive outlook on life.  This also means that having a somewhat ‘invisible illness’ she understands that everyone has their own personal struggles and their own reason for coming to yoga.

She wants to get people moving, to make time for themselves, and to learn to take a deep breath and step back from the day-to-day routine of everyday life. Rachael welcomes anyone to give yoga a go and is happy to chat about individual needs or provide modifications.

Donna Navarro

Donna Navarro

Teacher

Donna is originally a North Yorkshire lass moving to Nottinghamshire eight years ago. She came to yoga after a number of back surgeries resulting from degenerative disc disease and a curvature of the lumbar spine. A stressful career in public sector offender management and continued back trouble found her seeking strength, flexibility and balance on the Yoga mat. She has found yoga to be life-changing in terms of improving the health of her spine and in bringing a sense of calmness and grounding to her life. Donna trained with Sun Power Yoga and teaches a blend of Hatha, Sivananda, Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga. With metal rods and plates in her lumbar spine, she firmly believes that Yoga is for everyone and looks forward to welcoming you to the mat, whatever your ability.

Anne Keeshan

Anne Keeshan

Teacher

Anne’s first ever yoga experience was a revelation to her, she left the class that Friday feeling like she was floating on air. The relaxed, calm and happy sensation lasted into the weekend. From that day 8 years ago she has practiced Yoga regularly and wishes she had found it sooner.

Originally a Hull girl Anne has lived in Leicester since moving to study at Leicester University. She later enjoyed producing Theatre Programmes for the West End until she left to have children. After years of looking after the family at home, she realised she needed to start her journey back into work that would still fit around the family. Yoga was the one thing in life that sang to her. Anne is a qualified Sun Power Yoga and SPYKids Yoga Teacher.

Anne really believes that yoga is for everyone no matter of size flexibility and fitness. What she loves the most is witnessing the progression of her students from novice to experience as their bodies and minds are transformed. Sun salutes are definitely her favourite part of practice, but she always incorporates breath work into her classes to rein in the mind, whilst creating a light-hearted and welcoming atmosphere.
